~:~:~: TAROT READINGS :~:~:~ Forrest TenOfWands@aol.com About Me
My name is Forrest Awbrey. I live in Colorado, surrounded by some of the most beautiful and powerful natural scenery on Earth. Both my Mother & Grandmother were psychic. They were gifted with the ability to see into the future and to receive messages and information that most people did not seem to have access to. I grew up thinking it was normal to read Tarot cards, look into crystal balls, have prophetic dreams, and talk to Spirits of animals and trees.
These two wonderful women taught me everything I know about Tarot and the "Other Side", and any special abilities I have came to me through them. They showed me a special way of selecting and laying-out the Tarot in a 22-card spread that covers many different facets of the seeker's life. They taught me to "listen" to the cards and to read the story that takes shape as they are laid-out.
I have been using the methods I learned from them to read for other people for more than 40 years now, and even after all that time, I still learn something new with every Reading I do. I also find that as I grow older, my sensitivity increases and I become more and more receptive to the voices and images that often come to me during a Reading. One of the cardinal rules of doing a Reading is that I never second-guess the cards... they say what they say, and I simply translate it into an easier language to understand without "dressing it up" any more than is necessary to put it into words.
About the Tarot
The Tarot is an ancient deck of 78 cards, separated into two sections, the Major and the Minor Arcana. Each of the cards has a unique "personality" or character, which is associated with its meaning in a Reading, and which is represented to some extent by the images or pictures on the face of the card. Each card can have many different interpretations, depending upon where it falls in the Reading, what card it is paired with, and which cards precede it and follow it.
The interpretations also, and perhaps to an even greater degree, are influenced by the "message" that the cards give to the Reader when they are in tune with one another. There is magic in the cards, and when one is using an old deck that has become saturated with the vibrations of the Reader, the cards can almost literally come to life and begin speaking and moving. Some clients or seekers activate the cards more than others, and some seekers are more likely to receive exact answers to their questions than others, but the cards have something to say to everyone. A Reading is a three-way interaction between the Reader, the seeker, and the cards, and the best Readings take on a life of their own, leading both the Reader and the seeker into uncharted territory. It is for all of those reasons that no instruction book on reading the Tarot can ever be more than a general guide and a place to begin.
